Monthly Meetings

Fall 2017

The format for COBRE-PSF monthly meetings copy the structure of a group meeting whose members each are working on different projects. Every  Pilot Project Leader is expected to give a 15-minute "show and tell" presentation during the semester, backed up as needed by the relevant Core Lab Director(s). Each talk will provide:

  1.  A brief reminder of the specific plans or steps from Specific Aims 1 from a Pilot Project Leader's proposal, or just a part of SA1 that needed to be completed next.
  2.  An updated outline or plan for project activity in the lab. (What did you plan to do most recently? Why? How? Maybe there are two different activities, one in a Core Lab and one in the PI's laboratory. This may be different for a continuing vs. a new project.)
  3. Outline of results obtained and/or problems identified to date.
  4. Outline specific plans or steps for the coming months (PI lab and/or Core Lab). This will be the starting slide for the project presentation at the next project presentation.

Spring 2016

These meetings are an opportunity for the individual project leader to (1) Make a presentation on his or her research project as part of the preparation for writing their project report for the non-competitive renewal application, (2) Allow others to assist in reviewing the data to be included in a planned manuscript submission, or, (3) Practice for presentations to be given at External Advisory Committee meetings.  They may also serve to welcome a guest speaker who has used our COBRE-PSF Core Laboratories to assist their study of a unique research question.

Unless otherwise stated, all meetings are conducted from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.,
Room 152, Smissman Research Laboratories Building, Higuchi Biosciences Center,
The University of Kansas west campus.
