Two COBRE faculty researchers were among those for whom the Kansas Board of Regents approved promotions and appointments of tenure at The University of Kansas in April 2009.
Susan M. Egan has been promoted to full professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences. Egan received her Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1991. She served a postdoctoral at Johns Hopkins University from 1991-1994. She began her academic career at KU in 1994. Egan was a research investigator with the COBRE-PSF from 2002-2005. She now is a mentor for current COBRE-PSF investigator P. Scott Hefty, who is an assistant professor in the KU Department of Molecular Biosciences.
Liskin Swint-Kruse has been promoted to associate professor in the Department of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at The University of Kansas Medical Center. Swint-Kruse received her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1995. She served in postdoctoral positions at Rice University and the University of Houston from 1995-2002. Swint-Kruse was a COBRE-PSF research investigator from 2004-2007. She currently serves as chair of the steering committee for the COBRE-PSF Protein Production Core Laboratory.
