Jennifer Laurence Receives Louise Byrd Graduate Educator Award

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Jennifer Laurence, associate professor of pharmaceutical chemistry and COBRE-PSF research investigator from 2004-2007, received the Louise Byrd Graduate Educator Award at the May 21, 2011 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony. The award was established in 1984 in memory of Louise E. Byrd, who served for many years as secretary of the Graduate School. It honors faculty members who have demonstrated extraordinary devotion to graduate students and graduate education and who have distinguished themselves as scholars.

“Professor Laurence is a shining example of an outstanding graduate faculty mentor,” said Sara Rosen, dean
of graduate studies. “Her impact on the lives of her students and her department are substantial. The selection
committee, comprising previous awardees, is delighted to have such a distinguished scholar and mentor
receive this award.”
