Spring 2017 Grant Writing Workshop
Enrollment is now open for the KU COBREs Spring 2017 Grant Writing Workshop.
The three KU COBREs (PSF, CMADP, and CBID) are joining forces to offer, free of charge, a grant application writing workshop with a limited number of slots available. Note that by the end of the workshop, each participant will have produced a thoroughly critiqued and reviewed proposal ready for submission to a funding agency.
The Workshop is aimed at faculty—junior or senior, chemist or biologist, tenured or tenure-track—at the University of Kansas, KU Medical Center, Kansas State University and Wichita State University.
The Workshop consists of three essential component activities:
1) Attend the seminar “Writing Strong Proposals";
2) Write a Specific Aims page, submit it for review and then participate in a two- to three-hour hands-on critiquing session in which workshop participants will critique each other’s writing and be critiqued by several experienced authors, and,
3) Write a complete grant application, submit it for review and then participate in a mock study section in which workshop participants will critique each other’s writing and be critiqued by several experienced authors.
Applications to participate in the Workshop are due on or before Noon on Monday, February 20, 2017 and should be submitted to Cynthia Beall.
